We give some results concerning quotients of \(L^ 1(\mu)\) by nicely placed subspaces E: every operator from \(L^ 1(\nu)\) into \(L^ 1(\mu)/E\) factors through the canonical projection (as a consequence we get a new setting for a result of N. Ghoussoub and H. P. Rosenthal); we prove also that these spaces fail the Radon-Nikodym property; then, we obtain a Bukhvalov-Lozanovski theorem.
