\textit{P. G. Dixon} gave an example of a radical normed algebra with semisimple completion in Colloq. Math. 37, 81-82 (1977; Zbl 0369.46043)]. The authors give another example of such algebra. Some of its properties and uses are also discussed. Details, additional properties of this example and further results will appear in another paper by the authors.
