An approximate method of analysis of open queueing networks with limited buffers at the nodes and blocking is described that takes into account the mean values and the coefficients of variation of the intervals between the arrivals of calls at the nodes and their service times. The mean values are obtained for the queue length, the waiting time at the nodes, and other node capacity characteristics. Thus the probabilities of loss of calls at the nodes are obtained for a network with losses, whereas the probabilities of blocking of nodes are obtained for a network with blocking.
