The stability of the steady-state motion of a system with quasicyclic coordinates under the action of potential and dissipative forces and also forces which depend on quasicyclic velocities is investigated. The results are applied to the problem of the stability of the steady-state plane-parallel motion of a rotor on a shaft which is set up in elasticated bearings with a nonlinear reaction.
