The authors show that the pole assignment by output feedback BKC (B: \(R^ m\to R^ n\), \(C: R^ n\to R^ p\), full rank) can be reduced to solving a set of n-max(m,p) real polynomial equations in mp-max(m,p) unknowns, these equations being linear for \(m+p>n\). The degrees of freedom are expressed in terms of normalized eigenvectors coordinates. A procedure is presented and an illustrative example - using formal calculus package and standard elimination - is solved.
