An infinite family of cyclic codes over GF(q) analogous to duadic codes in the sense of \textit{J. S. Leon}, \textit{J. M. Masley} and \textit{V. Pless} [IEEE Trans. Inf. Theory IT-30, 709-714 (1984; Zbl 0575.94013)] is introduced. Existence theorems and a cube-root bound for the minimum weight are proved.
