The aim of this book is to analyze the concepts of space and time, inertial and noninertial frames and so forth to establish in a lengthy manner the basic principles and ``new aspects'' of the theory of special relativity. Those, who are familiar with the theory from the point of view of exact natural sciences may find some interesting interpretations of the basic concepts. In addition all formulae and intrinsic problems concerning the new insights in the nature of space and time in contradiction to Galilei's absolut definitions are treaed in an elementary mathematical framework. For a physicist or mathematician some parts of this bok may be inspiring to think again about space and time. - A compendium of all used symbols would be helpful because often differing from those widely accepted in corresponding textbooks making it nearly impossible to read jumping without having read all the previous chapters. This book will surely help beginners and non-scientists in getting inside this physical as well as philosophical thinking. But nevertheless a more compact and straightforward analysis would be wishful not only for the sake of an interested scientist but also for the aim of conviction of natural- philosophical people yet being sceptical.
