Conservative configuration dependent loads on bounded surfaces (Q1095696)

The authors establish necessary and sufficient conditions on a configuration-dependent load distributed over a bounded surface for it to admit a complementary boundary load, under the condition that the surface load and the boundary load together have a potential. They also derive explicit formulae for the surface load, the boundary load and the potential. Pressure and dead load are treated as special cases. Of special interest to theoretical workers in this field of work.
