A scheme by which a distributed array processor (DAP) may be used efficiently for the Monte Carlo simulation of condensed matter is described. The approach gives a certain flexibility to the size of system simulated. For a 64\(\times 64\) DAP one simulates systems each of \(2^ n\times 64\) particles or molecules simultaneously, where n is an integer in the range 0 to 6. The method of coping which systems with a hardsphere potential using either constant volume or constant pressure ensembles is described.
