The infiltration problem in two degenerate cases is considered. After proving the existence of weak solutions, we study when the water content c(u(\(\cdot,t))\) has compact support and how the solution behaves as \(t\to \infty\). Moreover, we get existence and regularity of two kinds of free boundaries under some conditions on the initial date.
