Reliability of a standby system with repair (Q1096527)

This paper deals with the analysis of a standby system of order N for which repair of components is allowed. The switching from standby to repair and back are taken to be instantaneous. By making use of diffusion approximation technique, expressions for the number of failed components in the system and system reliability are derived. The discrete flow of failed components in the system is approximated by a continuous one and we have modified the boundary conditions for a better approximation.
