For solving problems in approximation theory many methods are used among which is the method of weighting, so named in finite-dimensional case. It is applied here to approximate the restricted pseudosolution x of \(Kx=g\). Of special interest is its least square solution among all such solutions of \(Lx=h\). Here K and L are bounded linear operators for Hilbert spaces \(H_ 1\to H_ 2\) and \(H_ 1\to H_ 3\), respectively. Two lemmas, a proposition and three theorems summarise the chief results.
