It is shown that the category Chy of Cauchy spaces is a cartesian closed topological category. Hence quotient maps in Chy are finitely productive. Examples are provided which show that quotient maps in Chy are neither countably productive nor hereditary. The main tool for the above positive and negative results is a characterization of quotients in Chy.
