Let f be a simplicial map of X into Y, where X is a homology manifold and Y is a compact polyhedron. We prove that if for every simplex \(\alpha\) the dual D(\(\alpha\),f) to \(\alpha\) with respect to f is a cone, then f(X) is a homology n-manifold. Moreover if D(\(\alpha\),f) is a cone on D(\(\alpha\),f), then f(X) is PL-homeomorphic to X.
