The decomposition \(A=Q\Sigma Q^ T\) of the complex symmetric \(n\times n\) matrix A is called a symmetric singular value decomposition if Q is a unitary matrix and \(\Sigma =diag(\sigma_ 1,...,\sigma_ n)\) with real nonnegative \(\sigma_ i\). An algorithm is presented for computation of this decomposition.
