Nonlinear three-dimensional growth of perturbations in a Blasius flow (Q1097789)

We consider a model which takes into account the interaction between the strong two-dimensional and three-dimensional perturbations of the same frequency and all the forms of the secondary flows generated by them. A system of differential equations describing the nonlinear three- dimensional evolution of the amplitudes of the perturbations introduced into the boundary layer with the form of Tollmien-Schlichting waves was obtained and investigated numerically. The coefficients of this system of equations were determined from the hydrodynamic equations.
