This paper studies the normalized second immanant \(\bar d_ 2\) of semidefinite Hermitian matrices and tightens the spread of the Hadamard inequality and an inequality of Schur by proving \(\Pi a_{ii}\geq \det A+\Delta (\bar d_ 2(A)-\det A).\)
