This survey article nicely encapsulates known results about plane curves of minimal K-order. Let K be a set of characteristic curves (lines of circles, for example) in the plane. Then the K-order of a curve is the maximum number of points the curve has in common with any member of K. The author cites results due to O. Haupt, H. Künneth, P. Scherk, N. D. Lane and himself.
