We investigate a canonical method of lowering the character of R. H. Bing's 1952 example G of a normal space which is not collectionwise Hausdorff. We show that adding \(\aleph_{\omega}\) Cohen reals to a model of CH produces a model in which there is a normal separable space of weight less than the continuum which is not collectionwise Hausdorff.
