The paper studies the compatibility of two (non-Foster) positive-real impedances. Two impedances are said to be compatible if one impedance can be realized by a lossless two-port terminated with the other. A construction theorem as well as the design procedure are described based on the realizability of so-called LC-R ladders by introducing transfer polynomials and making use of the inherent properties of lossless two- ports.
