The paper investigates conditions on a group G and on the gradation of a strongly graded ring of type G, \(A=\oplus_{\sigma \in G}A_{\sigma}\) which will ensure that A is an Azumaya algebra whenever \(A_ e\) is one (e is the neutral element of G).
