    The recurrence relations for moments of modified power series distribution given by \textit{R. C. Gupta}, Sankhyā, Ser. B 36, 288-298 (1974; Zbl 0318.62009), use the derivatives of preceding moments which become cumbersome, as the order of the derivative increases. In this paper the recurrence relations are expressed in simplified forms. The results have been applied to particular cases.
