On the asymptotic behaviour of solutions of a certain fourth-order differential equation (Q1101871)

Consider the nonlinear autonomous differential equation of the fourth order \[ (1)\quad x^{(4)}+f_ 1(\dot x,\ddot x)\dddot x+f_ 2(\ddot x)+f_ 3(\dot x)+a_ 4x=0, \] where \(a_ 4\) is constant, \(f_ 1\), \(f_ 2\), \(f_ 3\) depend only on the arguments displayed explicitly. (1) is more general than those considered by \textit{H. O. Tejumola} [Atti Accad. Naz. Lincei, VIII. Ser., Rend., Cl. Sci. Fis. Mat. Nat. 52, 16-23 (1972; Zbl 0272.34051)] and the author [Math. Nachr. 81, 209-216 (1978; Zbl 0383.34040)]. In this paper the author gives sufficient conditions for the uniform global asymptotic stability of the zero solution of (1).
