\textit{S. Aki} [ibid. 39, 457-472 (1987; see the preceding review, Zbl 0644.62052)] develops a theory of extending the test for symmetry about zero of a continuous distribution function F. In this paper we discuss the same testing problem in the case where the probability F(0) of being negative is unknown, which is assumed to be known in Aki's paper.
