This paper continues the study of weaker forms of fuzzy continuity as initiated by \textit{K. K. Azad} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 82, 14-32 (1981; Zbl 0511.54006)]. The author defines a concept of semi-interior and semi- closure of a fuzzy set and characterizes a fuzzy-irresolute mapping in terms of these sets. For related notions and results see also \textit{A. S. Mashhour}, \textit{M. H. Ghanim} and \textit{M. A. Fath Alla} [Bull. Calcutta Math. Soc. 78, 57-69 (1986; Zbl 0604.54008)].
