The author analyses, from a theoretical point of view, the multibody dynamics and its implementation in modern sciences and practice. Using the virtual power principle, the nonlinear system of equations for the rigid body set with restrictions - kinematical, springs, dampers and active force elements - is deduced. The important mathematical element of the study is the path matrix describing the system topology, underlined in each analysed case.
