It is shown that if X is a perfect preimage of an orthocompact Moore space and f:X\(\to Y\) is a closed mapping, then \(Y=Y_ 0\cup \cup \{Y_ n| 1\leq n<\omega \}\), where \(f^{-1}(y)\) is compact for each \(y\in Y_ 0\) and \(Y_ n\) is closed and discrete in Y whenever \(1\leq n<\omega\). Additionally, a nice base-characterization of orthocompact developable spaces is obtained.
