Non-classical triangle buildings (Q1105195)

This paper is concerned with affine buildings of type \(\tilde A_ 2\). Given a projective plane coordinatized by a planar ternary ring (R,T) where R is the ring and T is the ternary operation, when it has a valuation satisfying certain conditions the author constructs an affine building of type \(\tilde A_ 2\). Furthermore given an arbitrary planar ternary ring \((R^*,T^*)\) he defines a positive valuated ternary ring \((R^+,T)\) to which a similar construction applies, allowing the construction of non-classical buildings (those which do not arise from a local field).
