The author presents algorithms for the computation of Cartan and Borel subalgebras of Lie algebras and of conjugation automorphisms of these objects. For most of the results, the algebras are assumed to be over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0. However, the computation of Cartan subalgebras is shown for arbitrary fields if either the algebra is solvable or the field has at least \((n = \) dimension of the algebra) elements.
