The generalized single hit (GSH) distribution has been proposed as a survival distribution for modeling populations with decreasing hazard. The equivalence of the GSH distribution and a member of the generalized Tukey's lambda distribution is demonstrated. From a modeling viewpoint, the GSH can be used when it is assumed that the population with decreasing hazard is made up of individuals with constant hazards.
