Flocks of quadratic cones, generalized quadrangles and translation planes (Q1107822)

The authors continue their own investigations as well as those of Thas, Fink, Payne and Kantor. In particular, they give an algebraic correspondence between flocks of quadratic cones in PG(3,q) and translation planes of order \(q^ 2\) admitting elation groups of order q whose orbits define reguli. They also show a connection between the flocks, generalized quadrangles of order \((q^ 2,q)\) and translation planes. Finally they list the known translation planes of order \(q^ 2\) and kernel \(\supseteq K\cong GF(q)\) which admit elation groups of order q whose orbits define reguli.
