The main result of the paper gives a necessary and sufficient condition for the order-bound topology on a Riesz space with order unit to coincide with the compct-open topology on its spectrum. Some resuls of \textit{W. A. Feldman} and \textit{J. F. Porter} [J. Math. Math. Sci. 4, 289-304 (1981; Zbl 0465.46011)] and the author are derived from this result. The main technique is the notion of support for Riesz pseudonorms on a Riesz space with weak order unit.
