In the present work the problem of a finite multilayered disk or cylinder composed of isotropic elastic layers and subject to dynamic loading is examined. In particular, we consider a multilayered plate or cylinder of circular geometry which is subjected to a time-dependent axisymmetric load acting on one of its surfaces, while the radial displacement and transverse shear stress vanish on the circumferential boundary. Employing an eigenfunction expansion technique, the solution for a multilayered plate is obtained for the case where the number of layers and their respective material properties and thicknesses are arbitrary.
