Let K be a field and R a finitely generated K-algebra with no zero divisors. The aim of this paper is to study the subrings \(S\subset R\) of the form \(S=D+I\), where D is a subring of K and I is a non-zero ideal of R\ (I\(\neq R)\). Specifically, one characterizes when S is Noetherian, or Laskerian, or a zero-divisor ring, or a strong S-ring, or an N-ring.
