Character-theoretic transfer. II (Q1109881)

The author provides some refinements of his results established in part I [ibid. 52, 1-38 (1978; Zbl 0399.20006)]. Among other discoveries, the author gives a character-theoretic condition that a cyclic group is contained in the commutator subgroup of a finite group. This condition is then applied to prove an extension of Schur's results on the exponents of Schur multipliers. An extension of Thompson's transfer lemma to odd primes is also provided.
