The method of \textit{H. D. Wahlquist} and \textit{F. N. Estabrook} [J. Math. Phys. 16, 1-7 (1975; Zbl 0298.35012)] is applied to construct the three independent conservation laws of the BBM equation [\textit{T. B. Benjamin}, \textit{J. L. Bona} and \textit{J. J. Mahony}, Philos. Trans. R. Soc. Lond., A 272, 47-78 (1972; Zbl 0229.35013)] which are expressed as exact forms in a closed ideal of ring of exterior differential forms on a six- dimensional differentiable manifold.
