The author proposes a modified Lagrangian for Yang-Mills fields introducing some subsidiary scalar fields. Treating the subsidiary fields as fermionic ghosts the path-integral formula for the S-matrix is derived in an explicitly covariant form using anticommuting Grassmann variables. The supersymmetry invariance in the presence of external sources is sketched. Two appendices deal with the case of Abelian scalar electrodynamics and SU(2)-fields with external currents in absence of external charges.
