    The frequencies and damping coefficients of a vibrating human tibia are studied in this paper, by modelling the tibia as a truncated conical structure. The experimentally observed principal mechanical properties of osseous tissues, viz. anisotropy, nonhomogeneity and material damping have been duly accounted for in the analysis. The applicability of the model has been illustrated through numerical computation of the derived analytical expressions. The computed values are presented in tabular form.
