Nonlinear method of identifying the motion of a flying vehicle (Q1111984)

An identification method is studied which extends analytically the solution of the identification problem simultaneously for two parameters, one of which is introduced to regularize the measuring errors of the motion parameters and the other to regularize computing errors as well as the effects of poor observability of motion in the set of measurements adopted. Test results are reported for the method from a trial in identifying the aerodynamic characteristics of a flying vehicle (viewed as a solid body) with measurements of its free motion along a ballistic path.
