The author has already established a characterization of finite fuzzy relation equations having a unique solution [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 14, 281-297 (1984; Zbl 0559.04005)] in a linear lattice. Using Di Nola's results, now the author gives a different characterization theorem in the general setting of complete Brouwerian lattices. Some examples illustrate the conditions of the theorems obtained.
