The authors deduce Euler's and Abel's summation formulas from a simple application of the fundamental formula in infinitesimal calculus- the Newton-Leibniz formula asserting that two continuous functions whose derivatives coincide differ from each other by a constant. This is not only an interesting new proof of these useful formulas but can also be a very instructive material for teaching undergraduates.
