The authors have studied the blood flow problem in micro-blood vessels, representing blood by micropolar fluid. However, micropolar fluid theory is inappropriate for a model for micro-circulatory flow. The polar fluid theory necessarily predicts an increased effective viscosity with decreasing tube radius, whereas it is a well established fact that there is a reduced effective viscosity in the small tubes of the microcirculation.
