The authors consider the solution of the neutron diffusion equation implemented on a 25-processor system. This calculation involves about 69.000 unknowns and the programs are all written in MODULA-2. Standard multigrid methods are used and the parallel structure is imposed by splitting the domain. The methods use a sequential refinement of the grid and the computational effort, apart from the finest grid is small.
