We consider the asymptotic expansions for the distribution of the von Mises statistical functionals. By combining the methods of \textit{J. Reeds} [On the definition of von Mises functionals. Ph. D. thesis, Harvard Univ. (1976)] and \textit{H. Callaert}, \textit{P. Janssen} and \textit{N. Veraverbeke} [Ann. Stat. 8, 299-312 (1980; Zbl 0428.62016)] we obtain the Edgeworth expansion with remainder \(o(n^{-1/2})\) as \(n\to \infty\).
