A method of solution of algebraic equations systems in the design of tree networks (Q1114578)

Algebraic equations systems of special kind are studied as formulated in optimal design and calculation of tree-shaped electric and hydraulic networks. An iterative method is suggested for solving an equations system; it is shown to converge, with the rate of a geometric progression, with a simple method of initial approximation choice. The unique existence of a positive solution to the equations system is proved.
