An implicit flux-corrected transport algorithm (Q1115150)

The authors developed an implicit flux-corrected transport algorithm applicable for Courant numbers \(c>1\). The proposed algorithm can give a threefold increase in overall speed over previous methods with the same order of accuracy, while returning strictly nonnegative results. The method is developed for application in discharge physics problems where a high order of accuracy is required for solving the continuity equations for electrons and ions being influenced by dominant space-charge effects.
