The slow (relative to the medium) motion of a heat-conducting particle in a gas flow described by the Navier-Stokes equations is examined. The particle is small as compared with the macroscopic scale of the flow and the local perturbation it creates is therefore described by a linear Boltzmann equation. A system of thermodynamic fluxes corresponding to the thermodynamic forces is established, and the transport coefficients forming the resistance matrix are shown to be symmetric.
