A linearized problem of a flat end-face impact by a rigid cylinder on a free surface of compressible liquid is solved for the end-face shaped as a ring or a disk with several circular cuts. The key element of the solution is a relation expressing pressure perturbations near a convex or concave edge of the thin wall diffracting a plane sound pulse.
