The integrity problem in linear multivariable systems is dealt with in this paper. In section 2, the problem is stated. Although the failure in the feedback loop is dealt with, integrity against the failure in the forward path can be solved as the dual of the problem stated in this paper. Section 3 is devoted to the introduction of the U-matrix on which the theory of this paper relies exclusively. Necessary and sufficient conditions for integrity are presented in various forms in section 4. In section 5, a synthesizing method is proposed such that integrity is ensured while attaining desirable input-output response with decoupling.
