It is proved that the space of all central polynomials of \(M_ 2(F)\), F is a field of characteristic zero, is generated (as a T-space of \(F<X>)\) by the polynomials \([x_ 1,x_ 2]\circ [x_ 3,x_ 4]\), \(x_ 0S_ 4(x_ 1,x_ 2,x_ 3,x_ 4)\).
